22nd STI National Youth Convention

Last February 08, 2017, STI College Calamba, Tagaytay, and Sta. Rosa held their first annual National Youth Convention at the Monochrome, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. It was also the first time having NYC together with the Senior High students. This year’s NYC theme is “Soar High with 21st Century Skills” to create identity and expand each horizons. STI invited 3 speakers from different industries to present learning process outside the four corners of the room. The convention started with an opening remarks that every STI’er must be a game changer.


The first speaker is Mr. Arun Gogna is a national and international lay preacher who tackled about the “Starter Pack.” He delivered about the five C’s which is Clarity, Competence, Courage, Coaching, and Character. He conveyed the students that “Success starts with you, but it should never be about you.”


Followed by the second speaker, Mrs. Carelle Mangaliag is the President and CEO of Train Station. She explained about the “Expansion Pack” containing the communication modals. She also expound the meaning and purpose of Neuro Linguistic Programming.


The last speaker is Mr. David Tapang who’s currently working at Microsoft Philippines. H


e tackled the “Break Out” which questions everything from space to the Earth. The science behind curvatures and methods are the topics he discussed. The most significant matters he explained is where evolution began. These things started from feet to wings, from fire to light, and from drawings to holograms.


Afterwards, students answered three questions from the three speaker’s discussion for a raffle. Two students won from STI Calamba and a student from STI Tagaytay. Students were given to roam around the place for two hours.
